HOW CHRISTIAN CARE IS RESPONDING TO COVID-19

COVID-19 Update

Care Continues for Residents and Staff

(LOUISVILLE) January 19, 2022: The Kentucky Department of Public Health continues to coordinate with Christian Care Communities (CCC) to support statewide hardships in the face of increasing COVID-19 cases and variants.  Based on communication from the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services and the Center for Disease Control, the guidance allows for limited visitation in the midst of the surge.

Visitors and workers must consistently and correctly wear a well-fitting approved face mask, adhere to social distancing practices, regularly wash hands, and are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated unless a medical or religious exemption exists.

President and CEO of Christian Care Communities, Mary Lynn Spalding, added, “We are hopeful that as quickly as the newest variant has arrived that it will soon subside.  Our care teams and residents were recently encouraged by the news of oral therapies that received emergency use authorization by the FDA.  The Medical Directors at each of our long-term care locations are working tirelessly to provide amazing care options to our residents.”

With 10 locations in Kentucky, visitors are encouraged to contact their location directly to ask for specific guidance on local visitation times and guidelines.

Christian Care Communities has consistently worked closely with local health departments and others to ensure eligible workers are fully vaccinated, with exemptions allowed based on religious beliefs or recognized medical conditions as approved recently by the Supreme Court.

Spalding went on to say, “As we battle this variant surge, I want to thank our amazing team of workers for stepping up yet again to keep us safe and healthy.”

COVID-19 Update

May 15, 2021

We are excited to announce our Christian Health Centers will allow indoor visitation for all residents regardless of vaccination status.

The COVID-19 global pandemic called for us to grow, adapt and innovate all while being drawn closer with a focus on Faith – Care – Family.   Our response to COVID-19 continues to bring admiration for the dedication and implemented to keep our residents and staff safe, connected and close to our hearts.  We are mindful of the huge toll isolation made on our residents and families.  The impact of the pandemic will continue to be felt for months to come as we continue our infection monitoring and prevention programs. Our path toward reopening all our communities, has brought us to this important update. The federal government has updated its CMS visitation guidance due to increased resident vaccination rates and decreased COVID-19 cases around the country.

All staff, visitors and residents must still adhere to the core principles of COVID-19 infection control. Including maintaining physical distancing, screening of all who enter the facility for signs and symptoms of COVID-19, hand hygiene, wearing a surgical mask and conducting visits outdoors whenever possible. This continues to be the safest way to prevent the spread of COVID-19, particularly if either party has not been fully vaccinated.  Please contact your local community as visiting hours vary by location.
